Heaven or Hell

I used to have a childish curiosity to know what heaven and hell actually mean; not the stereotypical Indian cinematic version; where people living in heaven are dressed in white, almost translucent, without much work to do, and living peacefully while those in hell are being boiled in very hot liquids, fed vile substances so on and so forth.

With the help of someone I dearly respect, I have come to realize that heaven is nothing but a happy life in your after birth whereas hell is a struggling life. This one seemed more realistic. Anyways I have decided to apply these terms in my day to day life.

We all have our own share of anxieties in life; though varying in magnitude. Whether born in a rich/poor/urban/rural/supportive… family we all have something or the other to worry about, to be sad. Yet there are some places/thoughts/people which are inclined toward peacefulness (heaven) while few others toward anxiety (hell). A single thing might be heaven at one time and hell at other times.

U see I am becoming all philosophical because I am currently at my home for a few days (I have bunked 4 days, 3 exams) and I get this feeling that I am probably in heaven and dreading going back to BITS; no need to worry about my dismal performance in T1, labs, records, tuts, n the approaching T2. I don’t know how long this feeling lasts, but might as well enjoy it when I can.

Wish list

It’s time to fill in the yearbook; personal details, embarrassing moments, photos etc etc. One thing that caught my attention was the wish list. Come to think of it, I haven’t ever made a wish list before. Since the situation demands I make one; here it goes:

·         At least 7 hours of sleep daily
·         Enough time and patience at hand to roam about, shop and do things at my will
·         A trip to Europe; especially Germany
·         Good food; preferably traditional Andhra varieties
·         A cozy place to live; in a peaceful area
·         Admission into a good university
·         A job which I am comfortable with, and love doing
·         Above all satisfaction and happiness in my life
